Dwelling - N. River Drive

On Monday December 6 at 0413 hours Station 7, and 5 along with Engine 6-3 were dispatched to a dwelling fire on North River Drive. Assistant Chief Hoffman was the first to arrive reporting heavy smoke from the dwelling advising all occupants were out of the building. 7-9's crew advanced a 2" line to the basement while 5-6's crew performed a search of the first floor. 7-9's crew found fire extending up the wall from an appliance in the basement. Engine 6-3's crew laddered the house with ground ladders while securing the utilities. Fire was extinguished quickly. The fire appeared to be caused by an electrical appliance in a fish tank.
