Working Dwelling Fire - 136 Magnolia Drive

September 19, 2012

At 0957 hrs Stations 5, 7, 6-3 and RIC 12 were dispatched to a working residential fire. Engine 7 went enroute with a crew of 6 at 1000 hrs. 7-10A (Deputy Chief J. Treece) arrived at 1001 to find a 2 story single family dwelling with fire showing from the rear. Engine 7 arrived at 1005 hrs and made an aggressive interior attack. They quickly darkened down the fire in the second floor bedroom. Engine 6-3 deployed a second line upon arrival and Ladder 5 was sent to the roof for ventilation but then reassigned to overhaul due to the fire self venting from the rear of the residence. Tower 7-6 arrived at 1009 hrs and assisted with throwing ground ladders. All units did an outstanding job and made a great save of the dwelling. Units on scene: 7-2, 7-6, 6-3, 5-6, 5-8, and PVPD.
