It is with deep regret that the Deepwater Fire Department announces the passing of Grover “Skeeter” Herrman. Mr. Herrman was a Life Member and Past Chief of the Deepwater Fire Department where he served as a firefighter for over 60 years. He was a Past President of both the Salem County Fire Chief’s Association, and the Delaware Valley Chief’s Association. Chief Herrman was also a Life Member of the NJ State Fireman’s Association, and a Past President of the Pennsville Township Fireman’s Relief Association. Skeeter received the Salem County Community Spirit Award for Volunteerism in 2002. His leadership, guidance, and friendship will be sadly missed by all. A viewing service for Grover Herrman will be held at Ashcraft’s Funeral Home in Pennsville NJ on Thursday April 11th where friends may call from 7-9 pm. There will also be service on Friday April 12th at 11am followed by his interment at Lawnside Cemetery
