Working RV Fire - Delaware Memorial Bridge South Bound
Sunday, June 24, 2012

At 1441 hrs Station 7 was dispatched for an RV fire on the Delaware Bridge. 7-9 responded first out of the house. Congested traffic conditions, all lanes were blocked between us and the fire delayed our arrival. Seeing the column of smoke while responding the crew knew they were going to work. Initial attack was from the outside of the RV from a distance, due to reports of oxygen cylinders being stored in the fire area, which was mainly in the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was heavily charged with smoke and was opened-up to eval conditions. NCC Rescue/Engine 22 performed overhaul and relieved 7-9's crews as they were sent for some much needed rehab. 7-2 arrived and dumped their tank water into 7-9.
